  • “As an engineer for Pedigree, I ensure we’re producing the high quality product that I’m proud to be giving to Bailey. He loves to lick my car windows clean, so it’s important to me that he’s getting something every mealtime which will protect and keep him healthy no matter where his tongue goes. He’s excelling at Puppy school so I know he’s getting all the nutrition and energy he needs to grow and learn”.

  • Whats does "aninal derivatives" constitute? Does'nt sound good

    10/07/09 22:01

  • Sam from Pedigree

  • Hi Sarah, I agree that ‘Animal Derivatives’ doesn’t sound that nice but it is merely a legal term you are likely to see on all pet foods.
The wording 'animal derivatives' covers the fleshy parts of the animal carcass, these materials are those parts of the carcass which are either surplus to human requirements or are not commonly consumed by people in the UK. Many of them used to be and are probably things our grandparents used to eat regularly. Examples of these are lung, liver, heart, kidney and tripe; they are all extremely nutritious (and tasty!) for dogs.
To reassure you, we are a member company of the Pet Food Manufacturers Association, we only use raw materials from animals which have been inspected and passed as fit for human consumption.

  • Hi Mike, sorry to hear about Sandy’s trip to the vet, I do hope he is feeling better. The only Chicken & Rice wet food we make is for Puppies. However, if you specifically know what Sandy can’t eat, our Consumer Care team would be happy to see which of our products are suitable for him. You can contact them by clicking ‘Contact Us’ at the bottom of this page.
