Our fifth Training Academy video looks at how to stop your dog jumping up at people. Gwen works her magic with Lady, a nine month old Staffy cross to make sure she keeps her feet on the ground.
Lots of dogs learn to jump up as puppies and it can be a hard habit to break - they're just pleased to see you, after all. But it can be annoying for visitors, and dangerous for small children or elderly people. Luckily, the steps are fairly easy - you just need two people, your dog and plenty of practice.
Please note: Although these videos are only a few minutes long, the filming for each took several hours. Training a dog is not quick to do and requires a lot of patience, practice and experimentation to achieve the best results.
